On paper, the second full-length release, Svn Eater, by death metal band Lvcifyre does everything right. The vocals are harsh, heavy, and very well controlled.

The drums are incredibly fast, supported by a double pedal. But when it comes to engineering, this album completely falls apart. Lvcifyre has been bringing their high-speed, thrash-influenced sound to the UK and beyond sinceso I was thoroughly surprised to see such odd instrumental volumes Pearl Jam - Ten this album when the group already has an EP and another full-length under their belt.

The vocal and drum tracks are so Goute Mes Frites - Valérie Lemercier - Chante, that apart from solos and a few riffs, the guitars feel almost nonexistent. On another note though, the members of Lvcifyre are impressively informed with knowledge of ancient cultures and mythology. Lovecraft, Lvcifyre referenced both ancient myths and literary works in several songs on Svn Eater.

It is also one of the tracks that relied more heavily on guitars than any other track. I was actually astounded when I heard them coming through, which means I was ecstatic when I heard its guitar solo.

This was the first song on Friends - Tragedy Khadafi - The AuraPort album In Fornication Waters - Lvcifyre - Svn Eater really grabbed my attention by having a strange wind-inspired opening that translated very well into the instrumental build up.

Menthor is one hell of a fast drummer and his technical skills really shine through in this track. I felt this track worked to show the amount of control in vocalist T. The vocals are satisfyingly heavy and creepy at separate times and bring a real sense darkness that the album is trying to convey. Ending vocals also mirror the opening vocals, which always helps to bring an album together full circle.

But, in the end I have to go back to the faulty engineering. The final fade out, to close out the entirety of Svn Eatersounds like an explosion going on as someone is drinking out of a straw with only ice left.

I see a lot of potential in the future for Lvcifyre, but a new producer might help. Natasha Van Duser. Save my name, email, and In Fornication Waters - Lvcifyre - Svn Eater in this browser for the next time I comment. Author Tony Shrum Website. November 23, Write A Comment Cancel Reply.
