I would have to say the Dark Knight. Someone who agrees with me :D unless he's being sarcastic lol. I wouldn't say it's the most over the top, but Ledger was a little too much True Lies. Seriously, the villain's death is one of the funniest, zaniest moments caught on film. Pretty much every Arnold Schwarzenneger movie ever made has been over the top They're still awesome :D.
Early Arnold, like Commando. True Lies had some moments i guess warbmxjohn. Commando's plot was virtually nonexistant True Lies had some moments i guess chessmaster The last Rambo film.
He kills like what? I'd say Rambo 3 is more over the top. Sure, he doesn't kill as many people, but the kills Bugmod - Various - Hardboiled 2003: Best Of Schranz he does make are way more rediculous and manly.
One guy, he pulls a grenade on the guy's bandolier thing and pushes him Я Сам Из Тех - Воскресенье* - Воскресенье a huge cavern thing with a rope around his neck, so he falls 20 feet, gets hung, and then EXPLODES. I'd have to say Iron Monkey is one of my favorite over the top action movies with such amazing Bugmod - Various - Hardboiled 2003: Best Of Schranz.
One movie I've caughts on previews is Tokyo Gore Police. Has anyone seen it? It looks like something that would fit in this category. Shoot em up has got to be one of the dumbest yet most awesome and most over the top I have ever seen, from death by carrot to a shoot out during a sex scene I say this has got to be on anyones Bugmod - Various - Hardboiled 2003: Best Of Schranz of most over the top action movies.
Film-Guy Aliens is sort of an over-the-top action movie. Don't get me wrong, I love it. It's one of my favourite sciencve fiction movies EVER. But when we're coming from the slow plodding Alien and go right in the ridiculously bombastic and over-the-top Aliens, it just seems like an over-the-top action movie. Remember when Ripley went into the nest in Aliens, and the red emergency lights were one, and Ripley cowered against a wall in terror as the camera emphasized her face?
Did you ever find that scene Bugmod - Various - Hardboiled 2003: Best Of Schranz of weird considering that she'd previously been acting all badass for the last 30 minutes at least?
Well congratulations. That scene looks weird because it was stolen from the scene in Alien when Ripley was about to board the escape pod after detonating the No0stromo's reactor. She initiates the self-destruct sequence, runs to the ship, sees the Alien Corazón Partío - Alejandro Sanz - Más the ship, runs back to turn off the self destrct sequence, fails at turning off the self destruct sequence, and is now going back to the escape ship scared as hell because that's her only option.
She isn't armed with sufficient weaponry to kill the Alien, she's going to die if she doesn't make it to the escape ship. THAT is why she is scared. James Cameron lifted that scene from the first movie and put it right in Why - Phil Smiths Fluke - Something For Now sequal.
He copied it verbatim, even though it doesn't fit that well. Which again, isn't a problem. I love Aliens. But it was really just a remake of Alien, only a LOT bigger. Take Terminator 2, for example. Terminator took a dump on Bugmod - Various - Hardboiled 2003: Best Of Schranz I Feel Loved (Danny Tenaglias Labor Of Love Dub ) - Depeche Mode - I Feel Loved (Danny Tenaglias L idea set forth in The Terminator, and people still claim that it's the superior movie simply because it is BIGGER and more "bombastic".
Let's also compare Cameron's later movies The Abyss Some good effects shots, some cool action, but all of the emotion came off as forced and synthetic. Typical 80s style mindless action movie, with the exception of being slightly better directed and filmed.
I haven't seen it more than once and can't comment it on it very much, but again we're talking about a movie that today is mostly remembered for being BIG more than it's remembered for being GREAT. And then we have Avatar. I haven't seen it, and it very well might be the best movie ever made.
Sorry, but James Cameron is just a smarter and more talented version of Michael Bay. With these guys, it's all just spectacle, "bigness", and having an excuse for action scenes and cool imagery. And the more that the characters in their movies have to actually show emotion, the worse that those movies get.
They're both directors whose careers have mostly rested on how cool they can make stuff look while it's getting blown up. And you're not gonna see James Cameron direct a movie in which no one dies and nothing gets shot or blown up any sooner than you'll see Michael Bay direct a movie in which no one dies and in which nothing gets shot or blown up.
Because these guys come from the SAME mold. James Cameron is by FAR the more talented of the two, but their of the same mold. I might have digressed a bit. But as far as over-the-top movies go, Aliens is a good contender. If I were to make a brief synopsis of Aliens, it would go something like this Last time, no one could fight back. Last time, Show Me The Way - Tiësto* - Greatest Hits final battle was against an Alien.
Last time, the movie is called Alien. Please Log In to post. This topic is locked from further discussion. Bring back the main forum list. Use your keyboard!
